It features unheated tension bars, which act as heating plates, to clamp the hair during straightening. The Dyson Hyperdymium motor spins at up to 106,000 revolutions per minute, pushing 11.9 liters of air through the device per second. Glass bead thermistors, located within the device, regulate the airflow temperature up to 30 times per second to prevent extreme heat damage and protect the hair’s natural shine.
